56 Counties have Republican Registration leads although many are narrow leads. The two large Republican lead counties are Lancaster and York and they roughly cancel the Democrat leads of Montgomery and Delaware counties. Philadelphia and Allegheny (Greater Pittsburg) dominate PA.

Party changes drove the Republican registration gain, not new registrations.  Voter maintenance activities also were a major driver, especially in counties with large  Democrat registrations (i.e., Philadelphia and Allegheny).

The Top 17 PA counties contributing to the Republican Gain from December 2022 to December 2024 are shown in these tables.

The two monster Democrat counties (Philadelphia and Allegheny) are major contributors to the Republican Gain that is driven by voter maintenance (largely Active to Inactive voter status changes) and party changes. Their new registrants are mostly Democrat (that is, negative Republican gain).

The 2 other Democrat counties largely contributing to the Republican gain are the two adjacent counties of Lehigh and North Hampton.  Their Republican gain is driven by party changes and voter maintenance.

In the under 25 age range, the number of Democrat females outnumber the Democrat males 2:1.  The number of Republican male registrations are larger than Republican female registrations.

National surveys show that Democrat female registrations outnumber Democrat male registrations by 5%. In PA it is an amazing 20% overall (60% female Democrats to 40% male) and is consistent across all age ranges.  Republican male registrations outnumber female registrations by 5% overall.

Mail-in voting led At-poll voting only for Democrats in 2020.  Otherwise, At-poll voting dominated Mail-in voting for the three political groups.  The Republican push for Mail-in voting in 202 maintain the number from 2020.
